Growing up in Charleston, S.C., I had access to the best local seafood and many wonderful restaurants. My parents were always taking my brother and I out to eat. As I grew into my teenage years, I (of course) got involved in the fast paced Food and Beverage industry in Charleston. I did waitressing, hostessing, washing dishes, food prep and whatever they’d let me do in the kitchen! I followed every chef around watching , asking questions and learning all I could from them.

The years passed and I took off for the great land of NYC. For 10 years I lived and loved in the Big Apple, studying under the greatest Italian chefs in the state.

Thus my love for all things Italian and Ethnic (my heritage being Cuban and Puerto Rican) began. I had the opportunity to sample great culinary fare from every background you can imagine in NYC.

My travels later took me to Nashville, TN for six years where I came back to my roots of great Southern food and “meat & three’s”.

After being in the corporate world for four years, I felt very restless and unfulfilled. I asked God, “what are the gifts you have given me that I am not using?”. I also asked several friends and associates their opinions on my greatest attributes. The results were unanimous, “you are a great cook , you should start your own restaurant or catering business”.

At that point in my life, I stepped out in faith to return to my hometown and bring Providence Catering to Charleston from Nashville.

Entertaining and the creation of amazing and delicious food is my passion!
